Tethering with the iPhone

I called Fido and confirmed Tethering is enabled on my account for free! You want to check before you do this or it’s crazy expensive. It works very easily giving you a high speed modem wherever you are. The iPhone with Tethering enabled shows as a modem to the Windows XP machine (requires you to load iTunes for this to work. That’s what adds the modem). Then you simply turn on the tethering option on the iPhone and your surfing on your data plan. You can see the speed I got in the attached images

Heres a good guide:

One of the real pluses of this is that you can still use all the iPhone programs while using it as a tethered modem! Nice …

BEWARE: From what I can tell the usage meter on the iPhone does not count up data used while tethering!
