Bluetooth on the iPhone

Another weak point on the version 1 of the iPhone that I owned was bluetooth. Apple have improved it some. It now supports stereo bluetooth. I have used it with my car stereo as well as the Motorola DC800 I use to connect to my home stereo and it works fairly well. With the car stereo it is a little buggy in that sometimes it does not connect well. Additionally the forward and next do not work. Disappointing, but better than before. Bluetooth can also be used for tethering. Other than that Apple have chosen to not implement the bluetooth stack. So you can not connect with a bluetooth GPS for example.

Additionally, don’t think about sending files or contacts using bluetooth, this too has been left out … STILL. Interoperability with this phone is non-existent.

So this one is a mixed bag. Better, but not perfect. In some areas Apple has a long way to catch up with other smart phones and this would be one are for sure!
